Floral Punch Class #2

Hi all, sorry to be awol for so long. I have been having a bad patch with my back! It saps the desire to do anything, especially in the creative realm! Back on the 17th I attended another floral punch class in at Scrappily Ever After in Temple, TX, given by Susan Tierney Cockburn. I was so excited to get to take another class with her and learn how to create more beautiful flowers. Susan is such a great teacher and is so patient, generous and really wants to share her techniques with you so you can create your own lovely floral art. It was also great because I was able to take it with my paper soul sister Lisa Phillippi of Adornments by Lisa, and got to meet her in person for the first time! Lisa has a beautiful paper art style with lovely vintage shabby chic cards!

I can tell you that any card you see posted on blogs and such are MUCH prettier in real life. I fell in love with this card of Lisa's which she brought to the class and it is much prettier in person. The flowers slide up out of the pot and are attached to a tag where you can write your sentiment. She gives the link to the tutorial so you can make it also. Also, Lisa added some of her trademark flowers and shaded the hydrangea petals on the above photo mat and I must say that I like it better than mine. I think I will re-do my hydrangeas with shading also. I wish we lived closer so that we could create together more often, we didn't get enough time to do all the girl and craft talk! lol!
I took three of Susan's classes and have posted two of the projects today. I will post the third tomorrow. The above is a photo mat that has a rose, hydrangeas, narcissus, and other accent flowers. Now I need to find the perfect picture to put in it.

This project was a gift box and features orange poppies and stargazer lilies. The poppies are punched from coffee filters and painted with Twinkling H2O's which really makes them sparkle and shine. You will be seeing more of these flowers as the punch for the lily will give you 4 different sizes of flowers. The flowers make a better "wrapping" than gift wrap or a gift bag and it becomes part of the gift!

Here are some pictures from one of the classes, I didn't get pics from the first one that had 12 of us! There is also a picture of me (I need a really good photo editor so it will take 50 lbs off of me), Susan and Lisa (right). It was a fun two days and I am already looking forward to the next classes! Cheryl from Scrappily Ever After is a wonderful hostess and goes out of her way to supply you with all the neat things to do floral punch, scrapbooking and paper art. If you are ever in the Temple Texas area stop by and spend some time in her shop.

Again, sorry to be so long between posts, I have some projects that I want to do, I hope my back will cooperate with me so I can. Until tomorrow,
*
Shalom,
