Quilled Fantasy Flower

Hi all! Get your sunglasses out because you are going to need them for this card! From black and white to bright and bold! The inspiration for this card came from the ribbon. I saw it while getting some supplies for another project and loved the bright colors in it. I had wanted to do a quilled fantasy flower and this was just the right colors for it. The base and layers are magenta, orange and yellow that are inked on the edges. The colors and layers begged for Faith's dots and the white scallop Nestie base has gold ones. The green from the ribbon is used in the flower leaves and vine. I also had some pretty magenta Twinkling H2O so I punched the accent flowers out of coffee filter paper and watercolored them, adding an aurora orange bead for the centers.

I had originally wanted to make a looped bow but it was too much so I opted for a knot instead. It is off centered so I could place the "Hi" sentiment on layered dimensional Nestie hearts, which is accented with more of the punched flowers. My DH said it is a bright and cheery card! I told him that was my goal.

I also have been given two awards! My very first ones and I receive two in two days! WOW y'all are great! My sister Jody (Joann to everyone else!) gave me this award:

She is the one who inspired me to start blogging in the first place with her great blog with all things thrifty, gardening, sewing and other fun stuff! THANKS JODY!

So I pass this one on to my Lisa Phillippi at Adornments by Lisa , and you can see why below!

Next I received this one from my great blogger and paper soul sister Lisa Phillippi:

Lisa's great blog is full of great cards and beautiful floral punch art, which she also teaches! Lisa and met on the Stamp TV forum and came to realize that we loved the same styles of cards, paper art and also floral punch! What is really neat, that while I have many blogger friends all over this country and the world even, is that Lisa and I are going to get to meet AND take a floral punch class taught by Susan Tirney Cockburn (see this post) together in a couple of weeks! Double fun! Meeting blogger friends isn't always possible because of the logistics of our locations and it is a rare treat to get to meet them in person!

This award is so cute, I love ladybugs and have a card on my "to do" list with a ladybug theme! So now I pass on this award to my 10 Fav's, which is hard to pick just 10! Here they are in no particular order:

A Touch of Grace

Sassy & Sweet

Amazing Paper Grace

Give it a Twirl

That's the first 5 and I will post the other 5 on the next post! These blogs are great! You will find wonderful paper art, humorous content, inspiring posts, useful info, so have fun exploring them! I have to get ready for Pesach (Passover) so I will try to get the table gift posted tomorrow, until then,

Shalom,
